The Thrift Store
The store sells and donates used and new clothing, furniture, appliances, and household items. All of the items are donated by families and businesses. The goal of the store is to provide goods at the most affordable prices to those who can pay and donate goods to those who cannot pay. Proceeds from sales are used to support other Conference programs and administrative expenses. The store donates approximately $25,000 in goods to those in need each year.

Store Hours: Tuesday-Friday: 10am to 4pm; Saturday: 10am-3pm
The Food Pantry
The pantry provides free food (approximately 21 meals per household member) to those in need once a month. Food is acquired from local donations, food drives, contributions from the Department of Agriculture and purchased from local grocery stores. In 2005, the pantry provided approximately 145,509 meals to people in need. 450 Thanksgiving baskets were also given out.

Any food contribution can be dropped off at the thrift store during regular business hours.
The Children's Foundation
Our children's program provides assistance with the day-to-day needs of children in the local school systems by working closely with the school nurses, guidance counselors, and daycare centers. The Children's Foundation receives requests and then provides the needed item - i.e. sneakers, diapers, daycare book scholarships, school physicals, head lice shampoo, baseball gloves, and school field trips, all of which help a "child in need" to have a positive self image and achieve an appropriate and complete educational experience. Our volunteers are very capable of coordinating all the needs of our children. In September, our "Project Pencil" provided over 500 backpacks, filled with supplies to students in elementary, middle, high school, and college.

During the spring and summer, "camperships" are available to children on vacation who otherwise might not have the opportunity to attend camp. During 2005, over 100 "camperships" were given out. The Children's Foundation uses the school's free and reduced lunch program as a guideline for providing assistance, but special circumstances are always considered.
Financial Assistance
Our Financial Assistance program supplements existing welfare programs by providing assistance for rent payments and deposits, medical expenses, child care, transportation, and utility payments for those in need. Financial, social and spiritual comfort is offered through home visits by teams of volunteers. Emphasis is given to finding helpful solutions.
The Conference provides in excess of $160,000 in annual assistance to Laconia, Gilford, Belmont, Gilmanton, and Alton residents.
Prison Ministry
Christ asked us to love and visit those in prison, as well as the innocent victims left behind - their spouses and children who must now struggle for existence without a bread-winner or a parent. The Vincentians offer assistance with Christian love to inmates and their families.
Disaster Relief
As a member of V.O.A.D. (Volunteer Organization Aiding in Disaster) we work with other agencies such as the Red Cross, Salvation Army, etc. to provide food, household and financial assistance to those whose lives have been ravaged by an unforeseen disaster.
